Mac Tabby, Charlotte’s cat café, is re-opening this month at its new location at 3204 N. Davidson Street, on the 2nd floor across from Curio, Craft & Conjure.
“Almost two years ago, I stood feet away from what is now our entrance and said to my broker, ‘I don’t know when, but we WILL wind up on this street,’” said owner Lori Konawalik about the NoDa location. “I literally felt it in my bones. The fact that we are here now, and we will be a part of the NoDa fabric and community for years to come is unreal. ‘Grateful’ doesn’t even describe how it feels. We love our new neighbors, the constant buzz and vibe… the overall energy. In my opinion, CATS are just going to make it all even better!”
Mac Tabby first opened December 16, 2017, up the street at Area 15. Since then, the innovative concept of offering cafe beverages, quality cat time, and a responsible adoption process has lead to the adoption of 121 happy cats.
Mac Tabby’s café offers beverages like coffee, tea, and kombucha and is separate from the actual cat area. There is no fee to hang out in the café, so it’s a great spot to work, study, or meet friends. Of course, we know what you really want is to get your feline fix.
All the cats are looking for a forever home. They are surprisingly social and predictably adorable. Some love to curl up and have their chins scratched while others are eager to get frisky with a feathered fishing rod. You pay by the hour ($12) or half-hour ($8) for time in the “cat lounge.” It’s a popular spot, so reservations are encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.
