Four Dogs hosting annual Queens Coop Chicken Coop Tour fundraiser

Want to help local pets and brush up on your farming skills at the same time? Good news: It’s time for the sixth annual Queens Coop Chicken Coop Tour!

The event, which benefits Pet Harvest Food Bank, a part of Second Harvest Food Bank, kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 4. Enjoy a fun-filled Saturday learning about having your own chicken coop and enjoying your own fresh eggs.

There will be informational classes in the morning at Four Dogs Pet Supplies, followed by a self-guided tour of chicken coops around the Charlotte area from 12-4 p.m.

In addition, Cecelia, a local young artist, will be selling her bird art at the store that day to raise funds for waterfowl rescue.

Tour maps can be purchased from Four Dogs for $10. Seats for the classes, which are limited to 20 people, are also $10 (stop by Four Dogs to reserve a spot). All proceeds will be donated to charity. The store is also running a pet food drive for Pet Harvest Food Bank from March 15 to April 15.

So come on out and start your day with a clucking good time!
