Miracle on 36th St.
The Boulevard at NoDa wants to help women get the perfect holiday gift, and we want to take the misery out of holiday shopping for the men!
The holidays can be a time of lights, friends and family, festive music, parties, delicious food, and of course gifts! Whats not to love? Well, there is also an ugly side to the holidays, the side when women wake up on Christmas morning to find that their significant other purchased their Christmas gift at Outdoor World or Technical Gadget R Us. Women with wish lists wait with excited anticipation to see what their boyfriends or husbands have picked out for them. Then comes the big moment to unwrap their gifts, and suddenly the twinkle in their eye has vanished and is replaced with a look of horror as they peer down into the unwrapped box to find a football jersey to match his for game days, a brand new vacuum, or the Godfather trilogy!
As store manager at The Boulevard at NoDa, I have watched it all year long with birthday presents. Men walk into the shop, point in a general direction, and say I know she said she like something over there. Hmmm& was it the bracelet we sold last week, the gold necklace, the beaded earrings? While the shop girls at NoDa are great at asking questions like Does she like silver or gold jewelry? Does she prefer a delicate necklace or something chunky and bold? We see it almost every time we start asking the questions: mens eyes glaze over as if we started speaking Chinese.
The Boulevard at NoDa wants to make sure this holiday season will be different for the ladies! They can come in anytime during business hours, ask one of the shop girls for a wish list, and we will walk around with them while they tell us their likes and dislikes, and we will keep the list on file. Then we invite their man in to shop during our happy hour where we serve beer and appetizers every Wednesday evening in December, from 5pm-7pm, and they wont even realize that while they were relaxed and hanging out with other guys, they also picked out the perfect gift for their loved one. A gift that wont leave her disappointed like the time Sheryl un-wrapped her gift from Jerry, only to find that she has been enrolled in the Steak of the Month program. Every month for the entire year, filet mignon will be delivered to her doorstep. What could be better, Jerry thought to himself as he entered his credit card information into the web-site. But, I am vegetarian! Sheryl tearfully told Jerry. My annual charity donation goes to PETA! Why would you get me this? Dont let your story be like Sheryl and Jerrys.
Let the guys enjoy the Miracle on 36th street. They think they are coming in for a beer and snack and before they know it, the perfect gift will be picked and wrapped!
